In Christ's day, I believe it was the Sadducees who did not accept the Oral Torah. They only accepted the written Torah. Today this group is called the Karaites. You can find much information on them online.

Of course, the Karaites still have their serious problems, chief among them being their denial of Yahshua as the Messiah and Son of God.

I was watching a yiytube video from rabbi teaching about genesis. I thought to myself it would be good to have truly jewish teaching on genesis. The video started off ok but then the teacher started naking crazy claims about God and Adam.

He claimed that God made adam date the animals and that when non of the animals proved to a suitable mate God then created Eve . I wondered how a rabbi could have such a crazy idea and where such ideas come from but I can see now it was probably the talmud or the related books.

One thing that puzzles me is that shouldn't the Jews of all people know better and is there a name for Jews who follow the proper holy scriptures and disregard the teachings of the talmud midrash etc?

I have not given thought to this year's Super Bowl. I have been so busy with other issues that this has not been on my radar this year. If the Lord should give me something to share on this year's Super Bowl, I will. However, at this time I do not anticipate doing so.

Whether the Patriots win or lose, I do not anticipate good things ahead for this nation. Judgment is inescapable.

May you be blessed with peace and understanding in these days,

Joseph

I enjoyed reading your past posts on previous Super Bowl games and how they related to what is going on spiritually with our country. This year, the Patriots and Seahawks sound like there is much involved spiritually with those names. Lately, I have been praying that our country will turn around and come to Christ. So I am rooting for the Patriots as that may be a good sign of what may come in our near future.

The topic of Judaism has attracted me for many years, and when I heard of Messianic Judaism of course I wanted to find out more. A few years ago I started a course in Hebrew roots at a Messianic synagogue, and heard a lot of this nonsense until I could take it no more and dropped out. The rabbi had a very arrogant and aggressive attitude towards Christianity (he insisted that Christians have a Greek mindset, and claimed that the Hebrew mindset was the biblical mindset, etc.) It was a very disturbing but eye-opening experience. I used to admire everything Jewish but I got a first-hand glimpse of the lies they believe and I know that what you say is true. In those months I learned more about Kabbalah and Talmud than about the Torah. This rabbi denied all the basic tenets Christians hold so dear. To be fair, other Messianic believers I've met have theologies that are closer to ours, but this guy not only denied that Yahshua is divine, but also denied the virgin birth, the miracles, the signs of Pentecost… What you were left with was Yahshua was a man with Yahweh's shekhinah (glory) on Him, but a man nonetheless. I suppose if I had remained to the end of the course I would have heard even more outrageous statements, but I can tell you that my faith was shaken to the core not only because of the statements I heard, but because of the Antichrist spirit behind it all. This is VERY dangerous.
