Joseph, I'm sure you've seen/heard by now, but find it interesting how you spoke of the phoenix in this post and there right in middle of the closing ceremonies, a burning phoenix hovered over the cauldron and it split up again, becoming individual petals and each petal was extinguished as the phoenix hung over it.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood, Truthseeker. We simply found the effort to find worthwhile messages was not a wise use of our time. A lot of what we found was propaganda in our opinion, sex, violence and values not in line with those we choose. To those that do, I have no quarrel. We read and tend to matters around our home and in the community.

Hi Jospeth, as a person living in London I have been reading the babylon rises series very closly. I work very close to the city of London and pass by many of the monument you speak of on my way to and from work. The idolatry of london is very great, far greater than what people realise, most governemt buildings and embassies are laced with idolatry of greco-roman gods.

When you spoke of apollo it reminded me of the rocky movies of the late 70's and early 80's starring Sylvestre Stallone. The main antogonist of Rocky was the the world champian boxer named 'apollo creed'.

This boxer had many titles including the 'master of disaster','the king of sting' and the 'dancing destroyer'.

I think these titles can be linked to apollo as he was considered a god of arts and music, but also he was known as a destroyer. Also, the scorpian like creature that come out of the bottomless pit has stings in their tails ('the king of sting'). Apollo Creed was a flamboyant african american who wore amerian flag shorts (barack obama perhaps?)

Perseus was another son of Zeus and a human woman. He is most well known in legends for beheading the medusa (the snake haired gorgan) and marrying andromeda a ethiopian princess.

Interesting the medusa was in some veriosn of the legend was a beutiful preistess of athena was raped by poseidon in the temple of athene(Gen 6:3). Poseidon was the brother of zeus. in the temple of athene. As punishment for 'profaning' her temple, athene turned her into the monster medusa whose gaze would turn any living thing to stone.

It seems that James Bond had a prominent part in the Opening Ceremonies. The creator of James Bond Ian Flemming also died on August 12.
