I hope you don't mind but i'm linking to your wonderful study and sharing on my own blog as well!!! 🙂 Thank you for dedicating time to this huge error. Something i heard that would be good to add to this is the fact that Cain brought an offering out of the ground that God had cursed – God could not bless his offering after cursing it. Abel on the other hand brought a clean firstborn (type of Christ the firstborn of every creature) lamb the firstfruits of his flock. – this is another big issue with the serpent seed doctrine as taught by william branham – i grew up in his belief system and just recently left after 31 years.

I began reading Bob Schlenker's article on the subject today and immediately felt that this was not right. I am glad I did some resarch on this topic, which I have not heard about before. I was drawn into Mr. Schlenker's website due to his discussion of rapture doctrine, but noticed from reading some of his other articles that he seems to focus on special revelation and hidden knowledge. This is always a concern. Clearly the whole Gnosticism approach has ensnared a few modern day believers.

Thankyou for your comprehensive account and breakdown of this doctrine and why it is so wrong. It helped me enormously to shake free from the distress I felt when reading about this at the Open Scroll.

Thanks for this writing. When I 1st saw the title I was not going to read it because I am aware of the serpent seed idea and I know it to be false. But I am glad the I read it all as I have again learnt much.

What stood out to me most was when Joseph spoke of ppl saying that they would have responded differently to Adam and Eve if it was them being tempted. I must admit I have said such words in the past but after reading this I have repented of that.
