If you will go to the February 2011 posts you will find one titled "Shaking Christ's Church," and another one titled "The Church Bells All Were Broken." These posts talk about the most recent quake.

I just found your comments a few moments ago and have read them.
It is now after the expected second and more dangerous after-shock. What is your evaluation of the situation now?

Without a doubt the earthquake at Christchurch is one of the more profound and clear prophetic signs.
I want to point out something, nobody has commented on yet. In Brother Peter’s second letter he mentioned something which struck me immediately
And has kept me pondering. In the prophetic nature of the earthquake and the aftermath and its parallel to Christ’s Church one cannot ignore this sentence from Peter’s letter:

The Anglican Cathedral and the Roman Catholic Cathedral both came through unscathed. Both are impressive buildings and dominate the city's skyline.

The great shaking had no effect on them, why is that? Could it be that they are not Christ’s Church? 1John 2:19 came to mind when I was pondering this statement from Peter.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.

Blessings

Joe

How many "churches" today were built on man's ambitions — in ways and places they should not have been, disregarding what scripture lays out as principles for the gathering of disciples in Spirit and Truth?

Yahshuah tells us, in John's gospel, the 14th chapter, that in the Father's house are "many dwelling places" — a word which means more than a bunch of heavenly McMansions where we can 'veg out' and watch TV!!

Because Jesus has gone before us to prepare THOSE dwelling places, they are all precisely where they ought to be, up to code and perfectly able to stand, clothed in the holiness of Christ's sacrifice.

His "building codes" (in the larger sense, for all of Creation, including our glorified bodies) are utterly perfect.

You stated: "They will know who were the doers of the Word, and who were hearers only."

Just recently I had an appointment with an ear doctor. On the wall was the typical medical poster of the "insides" of an ear. At the top of the poster were the words: "The Ear: An organ for hearing and balance."

An organ for hearing AND BALANCE!!!

An ear does TWO jobs: Hearing AND Balance! Hearing is applying His Words … Balance is the action (the doing) which must be DOne while being shaken (or walking) otherwise one will become dizzy, stumble and/or fall flat (either on one's face or one's bum!)

Yes, may we have TWO good ears to hear AND to DO BALANCE (in HIM) so as not to fall flat while all around us is being shook AND, therefore, remain standing in HIM! Make sense?

Perhaps you can elaborate on and clarify this concept of "Hearing AND Balance of TWO good ears"? Certainly there must be a parable in there somewhere, especially during times of shaking?!

Blessings in Yahshua,
Kathy

Isaiah 61:1-3 seems fitting. The Lord laid this on my heart on August 30th –
"1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
Because the LORD has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;
2To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."
It is report that the last word uttered from founder of The Salvation Army, as he lay dying, was "Others".
May we be about our Father's business in that hour, to 'comfort' others, which will bring great praise to our God.
