In an echo of the eerie baby head featured in the opening ceremony, there was a large fragmented head that came together to form an image of the deceased John Lennon.

My immediate response to seeing this head was to associate with the "head" discovered on Mars. Whether or not the Martian head is real of an optical illusion, the image is widespread enough to make the association: do we have an esoteric reference to war in heaven descending to Earth?
