My husband and I stopped celebrating Christmas about 5 years ago when we began to read about these things. No more trees, presents… We still go to family dinners when invited but for us it's just a family dinner and we "disappear" when some Christmas ritual takes place. Same with Easter. I guess my little son is not going to be popular in school when teachers ask him what will you ask santa to bring and he spills the beans that santa is an imposter. But we've chosen to make our children aware that certain traditions are not just innocent games but are pernicious lies that hurt people.
