Thank you for your interest in this subject. I am glad to see you fact checking the article. In this hour where error and deception are so prevalent, it is necessary that all believers develop this habit.

The statement you asked about is not in the Microsoft User Agreement. It is found in their Privacy Statement. You will find it at the following website.

Microsoft Privacy Statement

Scroll down to the section under the heading "Cortana" and expand it and you will find the quote I included in my blog post. You will find the quote that George Young included in his comment at the following link:

Microsoft Privacy Policy

May you be blessed with peace and understanding in these days.

I definitely agree that people are so preoccupied with constant chatter, listening to this, watching that, that we could be fast becoming robotic in our persons. I thought this morning about having a day with no computer – couldn't do it, but I appreciate your warning, and hope to be more attentive to asking myself why I am turning it on, and see about cutting down on the time in front of it, if that would mean a more productive life.

I appreciate your motive in posting this article and many of the things you said, but could you provide a link to this quote:

(Another statement from Microsoft's User Agreement for Windows 10 declares:
"To enable Cortana to provide personalized experiences and relevant….")

I just went through their terms of use and found nothing like this, or George Young's quote

"…(such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to."

I did see that they would disclose your private emails to law enforcement when asked. Law enforcement can eavesdrop on regular phone calls, so that is nothing new – they just have a wider range to work from with email and all your internet search habits. Jean Clink

I used to work for the tech support for this company, and we could, in case of need, have access to people's emails (hotmail or msn) and read them. Now we've gotten so dumb that they're saying it explicitly and people are ok with it. People don't even read these terms of use.

"To enable Cortana to provide personalized experiences and relevant suggestions, Microsoft collects and uses various types of data, such as your device location, data from your calendar, the apps you use, data from your emails and text messages, who you call, your contacts and how often you interact with them on your device.

Cortana also learns about you by collecting data about how you use your device and other Microsoft services, such as your music, alarm settings, whether the lock screen is on, what you view and purchase, your browse and Bing search history, and more."

If what was not overtly stated is not enough concern, they add the "and more" clause at the end. Nothing is off limits. There is no such thing as privacy for anyone connected to the Internet.

A couple of months ago I read an article about a similar family spying product, the JIBO http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/jibo-the-family-robot-or-how-to-sell-big-brother-over-sentimental-music-video/

What struck (and shocked) me the most, and this is explicitly mentioned in the Cortana video, is the attempt to "humanize technology" almost to the point of getting you to forget that you're interacting with a machine. In the JIBO video, you can even see the robot telling a fairy tale to the children, that is, replacing the mother/father in one of their most cherished parenting times. Why? Probably mum is too hooked on HER personal devices, updating Facebook status, etc. to take the time to read her child a story. We're already spending far too much time with our gadgets, and too little face-to-face time in actual interactions with real people, even our closest family members. So apart from the obvious spying functions, I believe one of the roles of these products is to make our communication apparently easier but far more superficial. They want us to be more and more addicted to technology so that we'll care less about our children and let the elites educate (and indoctrinate) them and instill the same addiction so they'll be rooted in the beast system and unable to think critically.
Plus, we no longer have to use our brains because every function we may need is in our computers or phones: calculator, notepad, there's an app for everything. We don't need to memorize or actually learn anything. We multitask so much that we can no longer concentrate on anything and that also destroys our brains. Thus, we become more stupid, and therefore, easier to handle. That's exactly what the elite wants.
