Thank you for sharing your 'learning experiences' concerning prayer!
From my own experience, I know that I was greatly hindered with my prayers by my unbelief, even though I openly professed unwavering belief. After all, why would a Creator who had the power to stretch out the heavens want to talk to this horrid little biological creation? Who was I to think that He would really TALK in the spirit with me, one out of billions of people? Just the thought of this made me seem in my thoughts like the most self important, foolish person ever.

Then one day I read Jeremiah 29:13 'And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.' There it was, with no ifs, ands, or buts. For nights on end, I thought about this. The key for me was '…with all of my heart.'
And then one night I just knew that this Creator wanted to talk with me, even as much as as he would talk with some very prominent person on this Earth. I learned that after all, this was His purpose in creating mankind – to commune with men and women, each as if they were the only person ever created.

Prayer is truly talking WITH, and not just TO our Creator.
