Ephesians 5: 8 – 13
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

You have asked an excellent question. I do not know that there is a universal answer to this. For example, in practically every home in America there are artifacts from our society that relate back to pagan worship.

As an example, consider the calendar. Each of the days of the week is dedicated to the worship of a different pagan god or goddess.

Sunday – The Sun
Monday – The Moon
Tuesday – goddess Tiews
Wednesday – Woden
Thursday – Thor
Friday – Freya
Saturday – Saturn

Similarly, many of the months are named in dedication to various deities, as for example May is named after Maya, June after Juno, and March after Mars.

Some pagan artifacts are hard to separate ourselves from completely for we live in a very pagan society. We are truly aliens and strangers in a foreign land.

I do believe there are things we can bring into our homes or environments that can give unclean spirits access, however. Whether it is a television, pornography, or a pagan idol or symbol such as a Christmas tree.

I think the greatest opportunity for the adversary is after the Father has given His sons and daughters insight into a matter, and has instructed them to separate themselves from some unrighteous influence. If obedience is not the response, then we do open ourselves up to the influence of unclean spirits.

I am not saying that we cannot open ourselves up to the enemy in ignorance, or avoid negative consequences due to our lack of discernment, for many examples could be given of those who suffered some judgment in their ignorance. The breach upon Uzzah as David brought the Ark back to Jerusalem is one example of someone suffering judgment in their ignorance.

The conclusion is that we should be careful to seek to always discern the mind and will of Yahweh and to do it.

And in contrast can we rest under Psalm 91 if we do not have this or any other idol in our home/midst? Something I have been thinking about for a while….
Peace and blessings,
Deirdre

The nickname for the place — "ROCK Center" — reveals even more.

Who is THE Rock at THE center of everything? Christ.

What is this place? An over-priced outdoor restaurant in summer (I've eaten there) and a place to spend too much on a few minutes of ice skating in winter (some friends did just that last week).

I also finding it telling that a quote such as the one from the self-professed 'Luciferian' has to be read carefully in this day and age to even realize the deception. He writes:

"He [Lucifer] stands for the exploration of new ideas and new perspectives in the pursuit of truth."

To 'buy' the statement, one already has to have bought into a mindset where the NEWNESS of idea is the mark of its value, DIFFERENCES in perspective are more important than the right perspective and the PURSUIT of truth is more important than Truth Himself — the person of Y'Shuah. Living in our culture today it's extremely easy to simply swallow those things (newness, diversity, and human pursuit) as 'good' in and of themselves.

Rather embarassing but I have never thought about the Christmas tree in any way but harmless and pretty. Making me wonder what else I am probably missing.
