Thank you for submitting the comment on the recent post. I am very
encouraged on your behalf and that of your wife Julie that you are both
losing weight. It is a wonderful thing to be making visible, measurable
progress in obedience to the Father.

I have seen the video you mentioned offered on Amazon's website as an instant video. I have not watched that particular one, but I have watched a number of other excellent videos on diet, as well as having read some very good books. Among them are the video Food, Inc., Forks Over Knives, Super Size Me, etc., and the books The China Study and How to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease. My current bandwidth as I am traveling does not allow me to watch full length videos, but I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a healthy diet and what the Father would require of me.

There have been two times in recent years that I have gotten down to my target goal of 165 lbs.. It was a tremendous sense of accomplishment to have done so. What I need to do, however, is to change my attitude toward food. Rather than eating for pleasure I need to give my body what is necessary to maintain health and to enable me as the occupant of this physical temple to accomplish the will of the Father. It is a difference of the spirit man leading, rather than the fleshly appetites.

I pray that you and Julie might continue to make steady progress and to enjoy the benefits of your obedience.

The thing that jumped out at me was about your weight,God weighed this on my heart a few months ago when my weight was out of control at 296lb.
Four months on,I weigh 244lb, still a long way to go but it's getting there.I know this is of God and not me.
God is telling us all to get right with Him.

Like you, we have struggled with being overweight all our lives. We began to eat more wholesome food over the last few years, but still our weight was a problem. A couple of months ago, a brother gave us a DVD containing the documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead." As we watched it, we were inspired and have so far lost nearly 50 pounds between us in the past few weeks. The video is free online at fatsickandnearlydead.com.
