I think you have misunderstood my meaning when I stated there was no way to test to see if the Scripture you were paraphrasing was rightly translated and applied. Because you did not say what Scripture you were referring to, I could not examine it. You merely said that it was in Revelation somewhere. In your follow-up reply you have provided a verse from the book of Jeremiah.

Because this passage from Jeremiah is speaking of God's judgment on Babylon, I believe you are right to suggest that it has application to spiritual Babylon which is spoken of in the book of Revelation. The natural serves as a type and shadow of the spiritual.

I was not disputing your claim that the government was seeding clouds back in the 1960s to make it rain. Cloud seeding has been going on since 1946, according to information sources available on the Internet.

What you have not established is any link to cloud seeding experiments in Alaska and earthquakes. To say that auroras and earthquakes are both influenced by magnetism reveals no causal relationship between government experiments and earthquakes.

You stated, "It is not for me to convince anyone of anything – only the Holy Spirit brings truth."

Why share at all if you are not seeking to convince anyone of anything? If it is all up to the Spirit, then sharing anything at all would seem superfluous.

God has called us to reason with others about various things. It is requisite that we present information in a patient, conscientious, logical and persuasive manner if we are to lead others to truth. This is what this present teaching series is all about.

You are probably correct in saying that a comment field is inadequate to establish the type of argument you are inferring. Many things cannot be conveyed in "sound bites."

May you be blessed with peace and understanding in these days.

Behold, I [am] against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which DESTROYETH ALL THE EARTH: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.

One of the meanings of strongs of mountains is the fortress of the destroyer, used of Babytlon.

You stated, "There is no way to test to see if it is a proper translation or has application to the subject you are linking it to."

There is much supporting evidence out there if one takes the time to research it. I had at one time, but the enemy has destroyed my hard drive about four times now. Besides this is a comment section and the information is voluminous and very scientific.

It is not for me to convince anyone of anything – only the Holy Spirit brings truth. I can attest to the truth of the testing going on at that time and what they were doing at THAT time.

I havn't presented any of this to "downplay" the Lord's role in any of this.

The desire to think with reason and understanding has been stronger in me over the past 3-4 months than ever. It is not something that I was ever trained to do and have not taken the time as an adult to learn. The Father has been impressing on me this very thing and only last month I was at a homeschooling conference where a speaker gave similar suggestions that were very helpful to strengthen critical thinking and the ability to comprehend a difficult subject.

There are several difficult subjects that I am wading through and I want to KNOW and not just parrot someone else's ideas and beliefs.

I, once again, feel that my Father has used you to confirm what He has already been speaking to me.

The link you provided is a good example of someone speculating. I looked at another link on the same site on the subject of Comet Elenin, and there was even more speculation. This is pretty typical for what is being posted on this subject. Lots of conjecture without any substance.

Your mention a multitude of factors here, and as this series has shared thus far, it would be difficult to arrive at any conclusions from the various facts you have stated.

You might suspect a linkage between two or more of these things, but such a link would only be speculation as there is no logic trail to follow to prove cause and effect.

Your mention of Revelation speaking of God gathering those who are destroying the earth also presents difficulties. You mentioned that this was a bad paraphrase, and I am not even able to guess what Scripture you are paraphrasing. There is no way to test to see if it is a proper translation or has application to the subject you are linking it to.

I realize from the date you mentioned that you are an older brother, and it is not my intent to express any disrespect. If I were to grade your comment, I might concede that it is interesting, but not particularly useful. Nothing can be proven by it, and even the Scripture cannot be tested. It needs some work in the area of presentation.

More of the above

They had an ongoing "study" and this was part of their study. We now know that magnetism on the earth creates auroras (and magnetism is tied to earthquakes). How do I know that the Air Force was conducting these tests — because I typed the reports!

That was 1967 – it is now 2011 – Forty Four (interesting number) years later. Forty Four years is a long time to run experiments.

Revelation talks about (not a good paraphrase – sorry) gathering those that "are destroying the earth." We know that He is coming "as a thief."

All that is happening is happening by design – His design – to bring everything man has created "with our hands" to an end.

I would agree that those who serve as teachers to the body of Christ have the greatest potential for harming the flock. Consequently, they will be held to a stricter judgment.

It is my observation that the vast majority of teachers to the body are not erring in the matter of warning the flock of calamitous things to come, but rather they are lulling them to sleep with a message of prosperity, and false visions of being raptured out of the world before they have to experience tribulation. These will have a great judgment, for they did not instruct the sheep to prepare themselves.

May you be blessed with peace and understanding in these days.

These ones will be judged far more severely, because they can cause damage to the flock of Jesus. Many of this flock are but babes in Christ and therefore highly vulnerable to plausible imposters.
