There are many who confess faith in Christ only a short time before they pass away. Their faith and obedience, although brief, will receive a reward. Every man will receive a reward according to what he has done in life. Some bring forth fruit 30 fold, some 60, and some 100 fold.

Those who have little time to bear fruit will have little fruit to be rewarded for. The thief on the cross, did not merely believe and confess Christ, but he also reproved the other thief who was hurling curses at Christ. In this we see that he was willing to associate himself with the Son of God in His moment of shame.

The chief priests, and Pharisees, and mobs of people were also hurling abuse at Christ, yet this thief was willing to take a stand for Christ, and bear in His reproach as well.

Although this willingness to take up the cross and follow Christ was brief, I am sure it will not go unrewarded. To understand more about the inheritance that awaits the overcomers in Christ, and the great distinctions there will be in the resurrection of the dead, I encourage you to visit the Heart4God website and read "Christ in You – The hope of glory."

He did not have time to become a disciple, in your definition of disciple, yet Jesus said that he would be with Jesus in paradise on that very day.
