MaryAnn Kauffman and Baby Boy
Psalms 30:5
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Back in December I shared that the husband one of my daughter’s closest friends was shot as the couple returned home during the holidays. Marcus Kauffman encountered two men who were robbing his home. One of the men shot Marcus in the head. Marcus died at a Charlotte hospital a few weeks later.
It was mentioned in those posts that MaryAnn was pregnant with her first child. Numerous readers asked me to keep them posted on how MaryAnn is doing, and I determined to update the readers of this blog after her child was born.
Marcus Landon Trace Kauffman was born yesterday, February 14th, weighing 7 pounds and 5 ounces. Both mother and baby are in excellent health.
According to my daughter Kristin, Marcus and MaryAnn had chosen their son’s name, but had determined to keep it a secret until he was born. After her husband died, MaryAnn wanted to honor Marcus by adding his name to that which they had agreed upon.
Many readers of this blog uplifted this precious family in prayer in their time of suffering. Many fervent prayers were uplifted, and some sent financial gifts as well. It seems fitting that the body of Christ should also share in the joy of this new life coming into the world.
I Corinthians 12:26
If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
God has honored this young woman with a son. She has been blessed to bring a man into this world. May he grow up to be a wise and righteous son who brings joy to his mother.
Proverbs 23:24-25
He who begets a wise son will be glad in him. Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her rejoice who gave birth to you.
May you be blessed with peace and understanding in these days.

Rejoicing! I was thinking about her yesterday and meant to email you to inquire about her.
May the Lord bless her and her precious son. There are some things we will never understand this side of life, but in Eternity, it will all make sense. I pray that she will always be surrounded by loving family and friends, and especially that she finds all her strength in YHWH.
