Me and the Cat

by | Jan 30, 2024

About 5 days ago I got myself a cat. Her name is Honey. Actually her name was Sol, but I did not think she looked much like the Sun. Maybe she doesn’t look like Honey either, but the name seems to fit her better.

I got honey from a local animal shelter. There isn’t one in Montezuma where I live, so I went to Perry. It is called FOPAS, which stands for Friends Of Perry Animal Shelter. I called and made an appointment and went and selected Honey from 5 cats that were present. Honey is a year old, born on January 11th, 2023.

I have not seen Champ in three weeks and have not heard from anyone about him. I had Champ for 12 years and I suspect he is dead now. I wanted a cat, something that I could have indoors, so I got this one. I told the two older ladies that worked at the animal shelter that I wanted a cat that I could hold in my lap. Honey is just that. She purrs almost nonstop and is very much a friendly cat. I had George come over the day before yesterday and she went right up to him and meowed. George is a cat person anyways. He has a 12 year old cat.

I broke my foot 3 days ago. It was the second time I have broken it in a year. You need not worry about it because it is not giving me any pain. I suppose the bones in my feet are getting more brittle the older I become. I was just walking around in my motorhome when it snapped. I guess I must have hit my foot on my wood stove, though I didn’t hit it hard. It is a result of having Osteogenesis Imperfecta. I have had this my whole life and have broken about 20 bones.

I just wanted to give you this update. I am fine.
